Ah yes, the World Wide Web – heralded as the best thing since sliced bread – set to revolutionise the way we do business… still waiting?

Very few organisations are making money through internet sales however where it does shine is giving everyone, regardless of size and financial resources a cost effective way to create a community for your customers. It is an inexpensive way to strengthen those relationships and inspire loyalty and service to ensure on-going sales. A way of providing real value to those people who already work with you. It is after all 6 times harder to get a new customer than it is to keep an old one!

You must make sure that your site is interesting to your audience AND friendly to the Search Engines

It's no longer enough to have a website - it has to be found by the Search Engines too! In days long gone it was possible to fool the Search Engines using some basic strategies. Often these would make your site look pretty damn ugly but it got the hits. Those strategies don't work any more however there are some basic fundamental things that can make a huge difference. It's important for example that your designer doesn't add in certain characters such as :: in the title page of your site. They look nice but they stop the search engines in their tracks! Not rocket science is it! Make sure when it comes to your website that it looks nice, is also well written and interesting but done so in a way that the Search Engines respond to. Writing good copy with dual motive is not that easy somethings but it's imperative if you are to generate traffic.
